It is the contention of Toss that pornography is not a new phenomenon, prompted by plummeting moral standards or advances in communication technology, but a symptom of human nature as prevalent now as it has been throughout human history. Toss does not condone pornography or condemn it.
We seek to understand why it exists and why it has always existed...
One of the pieces in the first exhibition will be a large wall based piece, 20 ft by 8 ft containing six
hundred images each individually framed in a silver photograph frame. The images will all be erotic in
content and will evenly span human visual history from 30,000 bc. to the present day. Many of the images
will explore the crossover between pornography and art.
